Vandalism at City Park

Vandals caused notable damage to the Shenandoah city park over the Christmas weekend, shattering one toilet, plugging storm drains and scattering landscape stones over the tennis courts. All restrooms were temporarily closed after the incident and the estimated cost for repairs is around $2000.

Although one restroom has since reopened, repairs to the other two may take several more weeks because of delays in getting plumbing parts.

To deter future vandalism after hours, the restrooms will automatically lock at 10:00 pm and re-open at 6:00am. Anyone with information should contact Shenandoah Police Department at 281-367-8952.
