The Texas Supreme Court has declined to issue an order which would have compelled Montgomery County’s GOP chairman to take actions that are required by law. More information on the mandamus petition are here.

 

On June 24, the majority members of the Montgomery County Republican Party’s County Executive Committee issued a press release and said they were “saddened” to learn that the Texas Supreme Court denied their Petition for Writ of Mandamus. However, the group noted the high court’s decision did not come as a surprise since they have a long history of not getting entangled in political party disputes.
