Students Honor Local Veterans

By Lilah Klumb, Mrs. Fagen’s 6th grade class

On November 11th, 2022, Quest Collegiate Academy in Shenandoah hosted a Veteran’s day parade. Veteran’s day is a day to honor the men and women who helped protect the citizens of the United States by serving in the armed forces. There were lots of students lined up on the side of the street, while the veterans drove through the parking lot. Students brought their signs and flags to celebrate the veterans on this special day. We had the opportunity to appreciate all that the veterans have done for our country. We had a lot of fun watching them drive through in their cool cars. Some of them even had motorcycles. It is a wonderful way to celebrate our nation and the people who served it. One veteran at the parade said, “It was very touching and sentimental. It was beautiful to see the school come together and honor our veterans”. I enjoyed being able to see everyone have so much appreciation for the ones who served in the United States military. I’ve been at this school for three years and I am glad that we host this event every year. I have family members who served in the armed forces.
