On August 9, Shenandoah city council voted unanimously to approve a new agreement with Montgomery County so that work can begin on the road extension in the next few weeks. The new agreement states Shenandoah will contribute $2 million plus wetlands credits and the county will pay $3,475,000 towards the project which will complete the road to Conroe city limits. The new agreement was necessary because Conroe decided to delay its part of the funding. For further background on this story, see this article.
Brice Civil Constructors was awarded the contract.
