The long awaited extension of David Memorial to highway 242 is currently underway. During the October 26 council meeting, City administrator Kathie Reyer reported that the grubbing portion has begun and construction should begin next March, with an estimated completion time of one year.

The extension will provide much needed relief to those traveling on the congested I-45 northbound feeder. Although the project has been planned for several years, it was delayed due to wetlands permits and coordination of funding from other jurisdictions, including Conroe, Montgomery County and The Woodlands.
